Releases

Continuous integration builds and tests the Swift package. A tag in vMAJOR.MINOR.PATCH form, optionally with a prerelease suffix, triggers release automation. It tests and builds on both Apple Silicon and Intel macOS runners, then packages architecture-specific Docksmith.app ZIP archives and companion CLI archives. Both builds must pass before publication. The release includes SHA256SUMS for its archives.

The current release workflow does not sign or notarize the app or CLI. Preview tags such as v0.1.0-alpha.1 publish prereleases for testing. Download the archive matching your Mac from GitHub Releases, then compare it with the included SHA256SUMS.

The documentation site is built from this repository’s docs/ directory with Astro Starlight. A pull request builds the docs for validation. Changes on main deploy the built docs/dist artifact through GitHub Pages after Pages is configured to use GitHub Actions.

For a local documentation check:

Publishing the app, CLI and docs does not grant device access. Apple Configurator’s separately installed cfgutil provides Home Screen access; optional Xcode provides app inventory and supported removal. A trusted, reachable device connection is still required.
